We've done some simple genealogy research into our family with plans to do more as time permits. What we have we'll put up here. If you have questions or comments, please contact us.

So it begins...

My great-great-grandfather (GG-GF) William A. Gray immigrated from Scotland sometime prior to 1858. My earliest record is the 1860 US Census in which he is married to Martha Bosworth (immigrated from England in 1850) with a 2 year old son (John O.) and a 3 month old daughter (Annie M.). Also living with them is Andrew Gray (age 18, born in Scotland). I assume that Andrew is a brother to my GG-GF, but I have no evidence to support that.

My GG-GF William lived in Pittsburgh, PA., and worked as a railroad engineer. William and Martha had seven children (all born in Pittsburgh, PA). One of those children was William Alexander, my great-grandfather.

My G-GF William lived in the Pittsburgh area his entire life and worked as a railroad engineer just like his father. He married Mary Marsch (immigrated from Germany in ~1894) and they had two children (both born in Pittsburgh).
